Hello. Welcome to my web page.

I started working with Google Analytics in 2007. At the time, I was a PPC Manager for an online retailer and found GA to be a great tool to optimize PPC campaigns. I then moved to a school furniture company where I used analytics quite a bit more, building out my skill set and competence.

I founded Analytics Ninja LLC in 2010. Initially, the majority of work was implementation and technical troubleshooting. Now we provide implementation, reporting, analysis, and training services to organizations of all sizes. I generally like working with mid to large sized businesses as I enjoy tackling complex problems and moving the needle for companies.

I enjoy being an active member of the digital analytics industry, and have spoken at a range of different marketing and analytics conferences throughout Europe, North America, and Israel including eMetrics (now Marketing Analytics Summit), Superweek, CXL Live, SMX, Digital Elite Camp, Marketing Festival, inOrbit, and Google Analytics User's Conference.

I am humbled to be looked up to as subject matter expert in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and enjoy teaching / training others. I do note that as my career has grown and developed, I see that the most important parts of a successful analytics practice are centered around strategy and communication, and fair less about tool expertise.

I am married (since 2002), and live in Jerusalem, Israel with my wife and our 5 children. I am an ordained Orthodox Rabbi and love studying Torah even more than I love analytics (which says a lot). Please feel free to follow me on Twitter or connect on LinkedIn. I'll likely ignore any Facebook "friend" requests, but don't worry, it's nothing personal.

I have a master's degree in Math with a specialization in cryptography. I always wanted to work in a visual environment, to find something that would combine the accuracy of mathematics and user interactions. So after ending of the university, I've started to work as web-designer. In 2007 I've completed the art director qualification course at the British Higher School of Art & Design in Moscow.

Then, I opened the world of data visualization and realized that this is what I have been looking for. I began to study analytics and programming, and after 5 years I completely switched from design to data storytelling. Finally, I came to data visualization with a solid UI/UX background and now work in Google Data Studio and Tableau.

I'm introvert by nature, but I like to connect people. So I came to Measure Camps organization. In 2017-2019 I was an organizer of Measure Camps in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Measure Bowling in Moscow.

The first computer I programmed was a Commodore Vic-20 at my friend's house, and that was a hack so that I could win at a video game. Ever since, it's been an adventure of programming minicomputers, PC's, laptops, and macs.

I happily landed in the analytics industry after a career in semiconductor manufacturing where I designed and coded automation systems, and large scale databases on worldwide networks in C. This was at DEC for about 2 years, and Intel for nearly 16 in software engineering, robotics, and project and engineering management.

After Intel, I became Director of Engineering over Internal Applications at MySpace during the heyday. I found myself drawn to analytics, and was hanging out with MySpace's data scientists who hovered over their near petabyte SQL Server database of user behavior and content. It was there I got hooked on a thing called "Web Analytics". I'd just come from my long stretch at Intel leading teams and developing worldwide factory engineering databases that gathered robotics semiconductor test data in near real-time and made them available within 15 minutes to anyone with a PC. Analytics bridged all of that background into something I instinctively felt connected to on the web.

Following MySpace I launched into what is now a 10-year career in analytics, nearly all with Google Analytics Standard and 360. I was the director of analytics and BI at Outlook, Grindr, and Conversant Media Properties (bought by IAC) where I implemented publishing and marketing analytics tracking and drove GA 360 governance for a bunch of their properties including About, Dictionary, Ask Content, Urban Spoon, Investopedia, and PriceRunner, and ran an engineering team in Shanghai. After IAC I joined Analytics Pros as GM of Analytics for 2 years and it was there that I started hearing about Analtyics-Ninja through a good friend of mine, and the Ninja reputation became known to me. After a time as Director of Analytics Product at INRIX, a vehicle telemetry and roadway analytics company, I left to do my own analytics consulting full time, and haven't looked back.

Joining Analytics-Ninja in October of 2018 was the best move I've made and I'm continuing to be joyful working with our great team, the deep work we provide, and our interesting spread of clients and analytics challenges. I lead our Operations, and also provide Analytics consulting.

I'm degreed from the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona in Management Information Systems and today I find myself still drawing from that degree choice.

In my other life, I'm an artist/painter and an amateur blacksmith, living in the Old West in Phoenix, Arizona very happily near my parents, brother and sister, and my partner with her two daughters and a 6' tall emu.

Life is exciting, and most of all, I'm fascinated to meet and learn about you and your business. Bon jour!

    Hello, I'm Simon.

I kicked off my career in web analytics as a data analyst, working for two years between 2015 and 2017 at Konbini. Following this, I became an Analytics Consultant at Alphalyr until early 2018. I then embarked on a 5-year journey as a full-time freelancer, which led me to work with SouWatts for three years. In 2023, I became a "ninja" in my field.

Over the years, I've developed a wide range of skills as a data professional. I'm capable of designing and implementing complex solutions and processes from scratch, in various environments, and can liaise with interlocutors at multiple levels.

I split my time between Paris and Mexico. I love traveling, dining at restaurants, exploring museums, playing video games, and watching movies.
